This is true for me, too. Writing by hand is stupid-slow for me, and my writing is near illegible to begin with. My thoughts move too quickly most of the time for me to be able to get them down on paper fast enough, so when i do rough drafts I end up with words missing in the written versions.

Sometimes it's helpful for me to start something by hand because I do have to look at it a second time and it's almost like proofreading when you have to read something even just to yourself as you're typing it. Still, sometimes I can't figure out what I meant by what I wrote down, which makes the entire process worthless for me. Bleh.
